Subject: Prayer for setting up a debating club in the school

Sir,

With due respect, I beg to state that I am a student of class ten of your school. Our school has no debating club, and for this reason we students cannot practise public speaking or develop our logical thinking.

A debating club helps students to express their ideas fluently and confidently. It removes stage fear, improves our English and Bangla, and makes us aware of current affairs. It also creates a healthy habit of listening to others' opinions. Many of our classmates are eager to take part in such an activity, and there is enough space in the school compound where a club room can be arranged.

I, therefore, pray and hope that you would be kind enough to permit us to set up a debating club in the school compound and appoint a teacher as its moderator. We shall run it with proper discipline.

Yours obediently,
Sristy
