The Principal
ABC College, Cumilla

Subject: Application for establishing a debating club.

Sir,

With due respect and humble submission, I, on behalf of the students of your college, beg to state that our college is one of the most renowned institutions in our district, providing quality education and co-curricular facilities. However, it is a matter of regret that we do not have a debating club in our college.

Debating plays a vital role in broadening our outlook and enhancing our cognitive abilities. It helps students develop critical thinking, public speaking skills, logical reasoning, and fluency in English. In addition, it enables students to prepare for inter-college and national-level competitions, which can bring great honour and prestige to our institution. Many students are eager to participate in debates if proper opportunities and guidance are provided.

May I, therefore, pray and hope that you would be kind enough to grant permission and take necessary steps to set up a debating club on our college premises at an early date, and oblige thereby.

Yours obediently,
Rifat
