Subject: Complaint about insufficient water supply

Sir,

With due respect, I would like to draw your kind attention to the acute shortage of water in our locality in Mymensingh City. We, the inhabitants of the area, are suffering greatly for it.

The supply of water is very irregular. Sometimes no water comes for two or three days, and what we get is dirty and unfit for drinking. Women and children have to carry water from distant places. As a result, we waste time and the risk of water-borne diseases such as diarrhoea and typhoid is increasing. The old pipelines are also leaking and need repair.

I, therefore, request you to look into the matter personally and take immediate steps to ensure a regular and safe water supply in our locality. We shall remain ever grateful to you.
