a) Mr Islam believed that an educated person has an obligation to the soil that has made him what he is. He felt that education does not prepare a person only to be an officer, so he stayed in his village and started advanced farming instead of becoming a banker.

b) The Islam family values their roots and their duty toward their community. All the brothers live in the village and work for it: Mr Islam is a farmer, his younger brother teaches science in a local school and the youngest wants to start a local NGO. Thus they serve the people of their area and set an example for others.

c) Mr Islam finds contentment in working on his own farm, staying with his family, passing time with his old friends and sleeping in his own home. He says that all these count a lot, and that he is very pleased with his life in the village.

d) It can be inferred that education does not mean only getting a job in the city. The Islam brothers used their education to improve their own village in agriculture, teaching and social work. This shows that education can guide a person to serve his roots, not just to seek a high position.

e) The Islam brothers convey the message that one should not forget or loosen one's roots, however educated or successful one becomes. A person can build a successful career and still remain connected to one's own soil. In fact, professional skill is best used to serve one's own people and place.
