A Tea Stall

A tea stall is a small shop where tea and light snacks are sold. It is a common sight in every town, village and street corner of our country. Usually a tea stall is a small room or a shed with a few benches and a table. The owner boils tea in a big kettle and serves it in small cups. Biscuits, bread, buns and cigarettes are also sold there. People of all classes, such as rickshaw pullers, students, office-goers and day labourers, visit it, especially in the morning and in the evening. They sip tea and chat about politics, sports, films and local affairs. Often a radio or a television is kept for the customers. A tea stall is also a source of income for many poor people. However, it should be kept clean so that customers do not fall ill. Thus, a tea stall is a place of cheap refreshment and social gathering.
