Environment Pollution

Environment pollution means the contamination of air, water and soil by harmful substances. It has become one of the most serious problems of the modern world, and Bangladesh is no exception. There are many causes of pollution. The smoke from mills, factories and old vehicles pollutes the air. Industrial waste, chemicals, sewage and household garbage are thrown into rivers and canals, which pollute the water. Overuse of chemical fertilizers and pesticides spoils the soil, and the cutting down of trees in a large scale reduces the natural balance. Loud noise from horns and machines also causes sound pollution in the cities. The effects of pollution are very harmful. People suffer from asthma, skin diseases, cholera, typhoid and many other diseases. Fish and other aquatic animals die, crops are damaged and the temperature of the earth is rising. Pollution also threatens plants and animals and may drive some species towards extinction. We can solve this problem if we take proper steps. We should plant more trees, treat factory waste before releasing it, dispose of garbage in a proper way and use less plastic. The government should make and apply strict laws against polluters. Above all, we must be aware of the danger and do our own duty to keep our environment clean and healthy for future generations.
