Subject: Complaint about frequent load-shedding

Sir,

Through the columns of your esteemed daily, I would like to draw the attention of the authority concerned to the problem of frequent load-shedding all over the country. I hope you will kindly publish this letter in your newspaper.

Load-shedding has become a part of our daily life. Almost every part of the country, both towns and villages, has to suffer power cuts for several hours a day. As a result, people of all sections are suffering greatly.

Students cannot prepare their lessons at night, and many of them do badly in their examinations. Patients in hospitals face great trouble, especially when operations are held in the dark. Mills, factories and small businesses cannot run properly, so production falls and many workers lose their jobs. The farmers also suffer, as they cannot irrigate their fields in time. In this way, the economic frame of the country is going to be weak.

The shortage of fuel and gas, old and inefficient power plants, system loss and wastage of power are the main reasons for the problem.

I, therefore, request the authority concerned to take immediate steps to increase the production of electricity, repair the old power plants and use renewable sources like solar power. They should also stop the wastage and the illegal use of power. I hope that the concerned authority will take the matter seriously and ease the sufferings of the people.
