The work was difficult and painful. The ice cream box is quite heavy when it is full.I had to work for hours, offering my ice cream to whoever wanted to buy. There were days when I could not even sell one ice cream.

রাস্তাই আমার ঘর। আমি আবর্জনা কুড়িয়ে এক বিক্রেতার কাছে বিক্রি করতাম। একবার আমার মারাত্মক সংক্রমণ হলে ডাক্তার আমাকে আবর্জনার স্তূপ থেকে দূরে থাকতে বললেন, তারপর থেকে আমি ওই কাজ ছেড়ে দিই। একবার আমি এক আইসক্রিম দোকানির কাছে কাজ করে সমুদ্রসৈকতে আইসক্রিম বিক্রি করতাম। কিন্তু বিনিময়ে কোনো টাকা পেতাম না। দোকানের মালিক আমাকে খেতে দিত এবং রাতে তার কুঁড়েঘরে ঘুমাতে দিত। কাজটি কঠিন ও কষ্টকর ছিল। আইসক্রিমের বাক্স ভরা থাকলে বেশ ভারী হয়। যে-ই কিনতে চাইত, তাকেই আইসক্রিম দেখিয়ে আমাকে ঘণ্টার পর ঘণ্টা কাজ করতে হতো। এমন দিনও গেছে, যেদিন আমি একটি আইসক্রিমও বিক্রি করতে পারিনি।
