My Favourite Hobby

A hobby is an activity pursued during leisure time for pleasure, relaxation, and personal fulfillment. It refreshes a weary mind after hard work. Among various recreational activities, my favourite hobby is gardening, which brings me closer to nature and gives me immense joy.

I have created a small garden in front of our house. Every afternoon, after finishing my studies, I spend around an hour there. I have planted a wide variety of flowering plants such as roses, marigolds, tuberoses, and jasmines. In addition, I cultivate various seasonal vegetables like tomatoes, chillies, and spinach, as well as a few herbal plants. My daily tasks include preparing the soil, sowing seeds, removing weeds, and watering the plants regularly. When fresh, colorful flowers bloom and vegetables grow, my heart fills with boundless happiness and satisfaction.

Gardening serves multiple purposes for me. It is an excellent form of physical exercise that keeps my body fit, active, and healthy. It also provides a serene escape from mental stress and the monotony of academic routine. Moreover, the fresh vegetables we harvest are completely organic and nutritious for my family. Watching tiny seeds sprout and flourish teaches me patience, discipline, and the value of care.

In conclusion, gardening is not merely a pastime for me; it is a creative and productive passion. It teaches me responsibility and fosters deep environmental awareness, making my leisure time both meaningful and enjoyable.
