Your School Library

A school library is a room in a school where a large collection of books, newspapers and magazines is kept for the students and teachers to read. It is situated on the ground floor of our main school building, near the headmaster's room. It is a large, quiet and well-lit room with shelves, tables and chairs.

There are many kinds of books in our school library, such as textbooks, story books, novels, poems, dictionaries, encyclopedias, books on science and history, and biographies of great people. There are also daily newspapers and magazines.

Our school library is very useful. It helps us to enlarge our knowledge, improve our reading habit and prepare for our lessons. We can sit and read there during our free periods.

We can borrow books from the library by showing our library card and writing our name and class in the register. The librarian gives us a book for a week, and we have to return it on time. I usually borrow story books, books on science and biographies of great men. Thus the school library plays an important role in our education.
