Traffic Jam

Traffic jam is a common problem in big cities of Bangladesh, especially Dhaka. It means a long line of vehicles that cannot move or move very slowly on a road. We see it every day at office hours and on busy roads.

There are many causes of traffic jams. The population of the city is increasing fast, and so is the number of vehicles. The roads are narrow and not enough. Many drivers do not follow traffic rules, and illegal parking and hawkers on the footpaths block the roads. Rickshaws and buses stopping anywhere also make it worse.

Traffic jam causes much harm. People waste valuable time and fuel, and they often reach offices, schools and hospitals late. Patients in ambulances suffer a great deal, and noise and air pollution increase.

To solve the problem, the government should build more roads, flyovers and a metro rail, and improve public transport. Traffic rules must be strictly enforced and people should be made aware. If all work together, we can reduce traffic jam.
