The Season I Like Most

Bangladesh is a land of six seasons: summer, rainy season, autumn, late autumn, winter and spring. Each has its own beauty, but I like spring most of all, and that is why it is called the king of seasons.

Time and Weather: Spring comes after winter, in the months of Falgun and Chaitra. The weather is neither too hot nor too cold. A gentle southern breeze blows, and the sky stays clear and bright.

Natural Beauty: In spring nature wakes up from the long sleep of winter. Trees shed their old leaves and put on new green ones. Flowers such as the krishnachura, palash, shimul, rose and marigold bloom everywhere and fill the air with sweet smell. Fields, gardens and roadsides look like colourful carpets. Cuckoos sing from the branches, and bees and butterflies fly from flower to flower.

Festivals: Two lively festivals come with spring. Pahela Falgun welcomes the season, when young people wear yellow and orange dresses and decorate their hair with flowers. Ekushey February also falls in these days and reminds us of our language martyrs.

Why I Like It: Spring gives joy to my mind. The mild weather lets me walk in the open air, enjoy the beauty of nature and feel fresh and energetic. There is no excess of heat, rain or cold to trouble us. Farmers also work happily in the fields during this season.

Conclusion: Spring fills our life with hope, colour and happiness. For its charming beauty, pleasant weather and joyful festivals, spring is the season I like most.
