I'd better go now. I promised ____ late.

Question

Accepted Answer

ঘ. I wouldn't be

ব্যাখ্যা: 'I promised' এর পর reported clause 'I wouldn't be late' ব্যাকরণসম্মত। 'promise' এর পর that-clause বা to-infinitive দুটোই চলে। 'not being' ও 'Not to being' ভুল গঠন, আর 'to not be' split infinitive বলে মান ইংরেজিতে অনুচিত।

**মনে রাখার কৌশল:** promise + (that) + subject + would + V1।

**একই ধরনের প্রশ্ন:**
১. She promised that she ___ late. (not come)
*উত্তর:* wouldn't come
