My Favourite Game

Introduction: Games and sports keep us healthy and cheerful. Among all games, cricket is my favourite. I love to play it as well as watch it.

About the Game: Cricket is played between two teams of eleven players each, with a bat and a ball, on a large field. The team that scores more runs wins the match. It is played in three main formats: Test, One Day and T20.

Reasons for My Liking: I like cricket for several reasons. First, it is an exciting game. Every ball may bring a boundary, a wicket or a surprise, so the interest never fades until the last moment. Second, it is the most popular game in our country. When the Bangladesh team plays, the whole nation sits before television and prays for its victory, which makes me feel proud. Third, it teaches teamwork. A batsman cannot win a match alone; bowlers, fielders and wicketkeeper all must co-operate. Fourth, it keeps me physically fit. Running, batting and fielding give me good exercise and make me active.

My Experience: I play cricket with my friends in the school field every afternoon. Once our team won an inter-school tournament, and that was the happiest day of my life. My favourite players are Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal, whose performances inspire me.

Lessons from the Game: Cricket teaches us discipline, patience, leadership and sportsmanship. We learn to accept both victory and defeat gracefully.

Conclusion: Cricket gives me joy, health and good friends. I want to continue playing it throughout my life.
