ইংরেজি ২য় পত্র প্রশ্ন
State the difference between 'many' and 'much'.
উত্তর ও ব্যাখ্যা
(৮) 'Many' and 'much' both mean a large quantity, but they are used with different kinds of nouns.
Many: used with countable plural nouns. Example: There are many books on the table. (How many students are there?)
Much: used with uncountable nouns. Example: There is not much water in the jug. (How much money do you have?)
Note: 'Much' is mostly used in negative and interrogative sentences; in affirmative sentences, 'a lot of' or 'plenty of' is more natural (e.g. We have a lot of time).
