বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশ সরকার কর্তৃক কৃষিঋণ ও কৃষি উপকরণ বিতরণের ন্যায় কর্মসূচিসমূহ গ্রহণের ফলে বিভিন্ন ফসলের উৎপাদন উল্লেখযোগ্য হারে বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে। কিন্তু তারপরও বৈরী আবহাওয়া ও আন্তর্জাতিক অর্থনীতিতে অস্থিরতার কারণে বিভিন্ন খাদ্যসামগ্রীর দাম রেকর্ড পরিমাণ বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে।

করিমের কারখানায় ২০ জন শ্রমিক কাজ করে। তার স্থায়ী মূলধন প্রায় ৪৫ লক্ষ টাকা। তার বন্ধু ফাহিম পরিবারের লোকজনের পুঁজি ও শ্রম ব্যবহার করে নিজ গৃহে উৎপাদন কাজ পরিচালনা করেন। তবে দুজনেই সততা ও নিষ্ঠার সাথে নিজ নিজ প্রতিষ্ঠান পরিচালনা করে দিনে দিনে ব্যবসার প্রসার করছেন।

চামড়া শিল্প বাংলাদেশের একটি উদীয়মান ম্যানুফ্যাকচারিং শিল্প। এই শিল্পের উৎপাদিত প্রধান দ্রব্যগুলোর মধ্যে রয়েছে জুতা, ব্যাগ, বেল্ট, অলঙ্কারের বাক্স ইত্যাদি। এই সমস্ত দ্রব্য বিদেশে বিক্রয় করে প্রচুর বৈদেশিক মুদ্রা অর্জিত হয়।

'ক' দেশের মোট জনসংখ্যা ৩০ কোটি; মোট আয়তন ৯১,৪৭,৫৯০ বর্গ-কিলোমিটার এবং মোট মৃত্যু সংখ্যা ২৫. লক্ষ। উক্ত দেশে বহিরাগমন (in migration) ৮ কোটি এবং বহির্গমন (out migration) ৮০ হাজার।

বাংলাদেশ একটি জনবহুল দেশ। এদেশে খাদ্য ঘাটতি, উচ্চ জন্ম ও মৃত্যুহার, অধিক বেকারত্নসহ ঘন ঘন প্রাকৃতিক দুর্যোগ দেখা দেয়। তবে জন্ম নিয়ন্ত্রণ পদ্ধতির কারণে জন্মহার সফলভাবে হ্রাস পাচ্ছে। এ ছাড়াও শিক্ষা, স্বাস্থ্য, আবাসন ও নারী উন্নয়নের বিভিন্ন কর্মসূচি গ্রহণ করে এই অতিরিক্ত জনসংখ্যাকে মানবসম্পদে রূপান্তরিত করা সম্ভব।

জামানের শিক্ষক ওপরের চিত্রের মাধ্যমে একটি জনসংখ্যার তত্ত্ব ব্যাখ্যা করছিলেন। তখন সে বুঝতে পারুল যে, তার দেশ অতি জনবহুল। তাই সে চাকরির চিন্তা না করে একটি বাণিজ্যিক কৃষি খামার গড়ে তোলে। এর মাধ্যমে সে বেশকিছু লোকের কর্মসংস্থান করতে সক্ষম হয়।

'X' দেশে ভিত্তি বছর ও বর্তমান বছরে দুটি ভোগ্যপণ্যের পরিমাপ ও দাম নিম্নরূপঃমুদ্রাস্ফীতি কমানোর জন্য উক্ত দেশের সরকার সুদের হার বৃদ্ধি, উন্নয়ন ব্যয় হ্রাস, ভ্যাট ও শুল্ক হ্রাস করলেও তাৎক্ষণিকভাবে আশানুরূপ ফল পাচ্ছে না।
